BLOOM BAKERY TO OPEN IN CAMPUS DISTRICT

Nonprofit Towards Employment will open the second location of Bloom Artisan Bakery & Café, a new social venture, on Thursday, April 28, in the Cleveland State University district. The bakery will be located at 1938 Euclid Ave, next to Allegro Real Estate, offering service from 6 am to 6 pm Monday through Friday and 7 am to 6 pm on Saturdays.

A celebratory launch party is planned for Thursday, in partnership with the Campus District CDC. Complimentary samples will be served at 4 pm and regular menu items will be available for purchase. Those attending will be able to enjoy the bakery’s idyllic outdoor seating, a behind-the-scenes tour of the facilities and a meet-and-greet with employees. Bloom Bakery is primed to become a true neighborhood “hot spot”, and all are welcome to join in on the opening day festivities. Through the art of exceptional handcrafted baking, Bloom Bakery will provide jobs to those with barriers to employment, giving them access to meaningful opportunities for work, achievement and self-sufficiency. This venture will support Towards Employment’s ultimate goal to create a pathway out of poverty for thousands of individuals.

Perfecting and maintaining the highest caliber of artisan baking is an integral counterpart to Bloom Bakery’s distinctive social mission. European baking specialist Maurice Chaplais has overseen each stage of development, training Bloom’s staff to execute his world-renowned recipes and artisan baking techniques.

“From creating the perfect New York-style bagel to perfecting a croissant recipe that rivals any Parisian café, Bloom Bakery isn’t cutting corners when it comes to superior taste,” says Chaplais. “It has been a pleasure to work with a team that is so committed to showcasing the art of baking.”

In addition to Bloom Bakery’s diverse breakfast offering of morning pastries, bagels, fresh juice and true European artisan coffee, a lunch menu will be available with delicious sandwiches, soups, salads and desserts.

The first Bloom Bakery location opened in March at 200 Public Square.

“Bloom Bakery is pioneering the combination of a social mission with a best-in-class business model in the baking industry,” says General Manager Logan Fahey. “The intended outcome of this revolutionary concept is threefold: changing people’s lives by providing them with jobs, elevating the Cleveland food scene to a new level and giving back to the entire community. After opening Bloom Bakery’s Public Square location to rave reviews, we couldn’t be more excited to open our second site and give even more people the opportunity taste our delicious food.”
