Inaugural Cleveland Metroparks Taste on the Lake
May 22, 2018 – CLEVELAND- Bloom Bakery, a social venture of Towards Employment, is setting up shop at the Cleveland Flea, Night Market Cleveland, Cleveland Eats and Cleveland Metroparks Taste on the Lake this summer.
“We are excited to be a part of Cleveland’s summer markets and events,” says Jill Rizika, executive director of Towards Employment. “By being out in the community we raise the profile of the important work we do at Bloom to provide jobs for people who have barriers to employment. Plus, it means more places to find our delicious baked goods and artisan food.” Kristina Clark, new Bloom Bakery sales manager says she is “pumped to participate in all the best events Cleveland has to offer. It’s a wonderful opportunity to get face to face with our customers so they can sample our food and get a feel of how we can, and do, benefit our community.”
Bloom Bakery will participate in the inaugural Taste on the Lake hosted by Cleveland Metroparks at Edgewater Park on July 7 and 8.
Find Bloom Bakery at The Cleveland Flea, Saturdays on the following dates: June 9, July 14, August 11, September 8 and October 13.
Find Bloom at Cleveland Night Market on the following Friday dates: June 29, July 27, August 31, and September 28.
Bloom will also be at the 2018 Cleveland Eats Culinary Festival sponsored by Cuyahoga Community College and taking place this year on Saturday September 15 at Mall B.
Launched in 2016, Bloom Bakery recently celebrated its second year in business at its two locations on Public Square and on Euclid Avenue adjacent to Cleveland State University. Bloom focuses on preparing and selling the highest quality food, all while helping Clevelanders find meaningful employment and a path to self-sufficiency. Bloom does this by training people who face barriers to employment for a initial career in culinary arts; producing delicious baked goods, deli sandwiches, salads, and soups using the freshest ingredients at two cafes in downtown Cleveland; and creating meaningful career opportunities for Towards Employment graduates beyond Bloom so Greater Cleveland can prosper.
