Life Skills Workshops
Employers tell us that most entry-level employees lack basic life skills – such as the “soft skills” of communication and problem solving, along with personal qualities like self-esteem and motivation. Employers all agree – these are critical to workforce productivity and success on the job.
Right at your own worksite, our Towards Employment staff provides interactive, behavior-changing Life Skills Workshops. Whether you need a one-time event or a multi-session program, we will customize the content – whatever it takes to help your employees improve relationships and deliver stronger performance in the workplace.
These workshops include strategies and resources for managing personal issues that impact the employee’s ability to focus on their work and performance. Participants learn how to successfully manage work/life challenges while on the job. Workshops discuss such topics as: money management (i.e. clearing credit card debt, budgeting, savings options), accessing continuing education opportunities, work/ life balance, parenting, wellness and child care.
Front-line Supervisory Training
Conflict with a supervisor is often cited by entry-level employees as one of the most common reasons for leaving a job. That’s why Towards Employment’s developed training specifically for front-line supervisors.
We can tailor the curriculum to meet your company’s specific needs with continuing education credits available for many professions.
In a six-hour curriculum based on a national model, your supervisors will learn the tools and knowledge needed to lead an effective team by experiencing...
- Dynamic interactive sessions on the specific challenges facing by entry-level workers
- Practical ideas and skills to help supervisors build better working relationshipa
- Adult learning techniques -- including music, role-plays, worksheets, pair-share activities, and team-building exercises for maximum participation and impact
- Topics that matter to supervisors, including Motivating Employees, Communicating Effectively, Understanding Cost of Turnover and Managing Diversity
- Continuing Education Units accredited by the Licensed Practical Nurse Association of Ohio, the Certifying Board for Dietary Managers, and the State of Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, and Marriage and Family Therapist Board
The training is offered as one full-day, two half-day, or three two-hour sessions (along with a post-training follow-up session six weeks later) and is widely acclaimed by participants and upper-level management.
